The Southface Energy Institute

The Southface Energy Institute is dedicated to promoting sustainable building practices through education, research, and demonstration. Selected during a design competition at Southface's 2003 Greenprints Conference, Ecos is working with a design team led by architect's Lord Aeck and Sargent to develop a site design for the Southface office demonstration center known as the Eco-office. One of the goals of the project is to receive a Gold Rating through the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED Green Building certification. This new part of the Institute will showcase new “green” technologies in the workplace that can be viewed and adopted by the public into conventional building practices.
