March 19, 2007
Atlanta Botanical Gardens

Ecos Environmental Design, Inc. is proud to be a Bronze Sponsor for the
second year for Park Pride's 6th Annual Parks and Greenspace Conference,
'Understanding the Value of Parks and Greenspaces.'  This conference will focus on how public-private sponsorships can improve our parks and our quality of life. This is a wonderful opportunity for professionals working on parks, greenspace,
quality growth and new urbanist development issues to spend a day learning
from their peers and industry leaders.

Shannon G. Kettering, ASLA, AICP, Vice President of Ecos will be moderating
the session, Programming in Parks.

Greenprints Conference and Tradeshow

March 22 – 23, 2007
Westin Peachtree Plaza

Greenprints remains the Southeast region's most thought-provoking forum on
sustainable communities. In addition to educational tracks on residential, commercial and community design and development, Greenprints boasts a "green" tradeshow with the latest green building products and services, as well as hands-on learning opportunities and an alternative fuel vehicle show.

Ecos Environmental Design, Inc. will once again participate in the Southface Energy Institute's Greenprints Conference and Tradeshow this year. If you are planning to attend, please be sure to stop by and see us at Booth #7.

While you’re at the Greenprints Conference, stop by and see the Ecos project, Cabbagetown Park, which was selected by the Atlanta AIA-Committee on the Environment (COTE) as a model example that best illustrates regional efforts to integrate environmentally responsible design methods and materials.

And don’t miss the charrette with Shannon G. Kettering, ASLA, AICP, Vice President of Ecos and Robert Reed, President of Preston & Reed Sustainability Solutions on Green Development Challenges on Thursday, March 22.

During this session, you will learn about the charrette process and have the
opportunity to test and implement your knowledge of sustainable development
by attempting to take an already green community to another level. Kanawha
is a planned development in South Carolina whose goal is to successfully
integrate sustainability and New Urbanism concepts in one place. This
community aims to set the standard for environmentally responsible mixed-use
pedestrian friendly design. Using this proposed EarthCraft Community as an
example, participants will be challenged to explore innovative site and land
planning strategies in a development attempting to incorporate 1,200
dwelling units, 200,000 square feet of commercial space, and serve as an
example for the Stans Museum of Life and the Environment that will be
located within the development.
