Kerry Blind, FASLA, LEED AP is the new Chairman of the Georgia Conservancy’s Blueprints for Livable Communities Committee. This dynamic group facilitates community-based planning efforts and provides educational and technical assistance to communities throughout Georgia, focusing on consensus-building and promotion of sound conservation and growth strategies.
In addition, Kerry continues to serve on the Southface Energy Institute’s Sustainable Atlanta Round Table Committee, teaming with Metro-area professionals to develop thought-provoking programs for its monthly meetings.
Stephen Brooks, ASLA, LEED AP, recently became the 2008 Chair of the Georgia Chapter of American Institute of Architecture’s Committee on the Environment (AIA-COTE). He has been involved with COTE for five years as Chair of Sustainable Sites Subcommittee, Water Efficiency Subcommittee, and as a general member.
COTE provides AIA with knowledge about environmental issues and advises the Institute on environmental policy matters affecting the practice of architecture. The committee supports cooperation with educators and institutions of learning, manufacturers, government agencies, environmental organizations, and industry groups. Together they advance environmentally sound design processes and standards, as well as environmentally innovative materials and integrated systems.
Matt Wilder, ASLA, LEED AP, was selected to serve as a Regional Director on the Board of the Freedom Park Conservancy. His background in public park and plaza design, his accreditation as a LEED professional, and his familiarity with Freedom Park will make him a valuable member of the Board. The Board is charged with maintaining and improving Freedom Park, as well as working closely with the City of Atlanta’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs. |
